Today
my daughter turns 49. I will always see her as the little girl in this
birthday card drawing: Running at the day care full of determination;
Insisting on a second balloon at McDonald's when the first one floated
away; Going into the school principals office and demanding equal time
for girls on the boy's soccer field; Throwing down her flag and marching
off the field when she was at odds with the band director. She is still
that determined person. I am so proud of her.
